Fresh off of last year's re-design, the 2013 Toyota Tacoma is a
compact pickup truck offered in two-door and four-door trim levels. The Tacoma
is powered by a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 159 hp and 180 lb-ft
of torque. An optional engine upgrade grants the driver a 4.0-liter V8 engine
that produces 236 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque. The base engine can be paired with
a 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic transmission while the
upgraded engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 5-speed automatic

mileage is an EPA estimated 21 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, for the standard
engine. Maximum towing capacity is 3500 lbs. for the standard engine and 6500
lbs. for the upgraded engine. Options include power outside mirrors, steering
wheel-mounted audio controls, integrated backup camera, 6-disc CD changer, and
auto-dimming mirror with monitor. Safety is comprised of vehicle stability
control (VSC), traction control (TRAC), anti-lock brake system (ABS), electronic
brake-force distribution (EBD), advanced airbags, and smart stop technology
(SST). The Tacoma is backed by a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty.
